Flash Decompiler Trillix by Eltima its a simple yet powerful software for all the flash artists out there. I am a Graphic Designer and find this software very handy and a must have if you use Flash intensively.
Lets check out what this little software can do to our daily lives.
Flash Decompiler Trillix converts Adobe Flash SWF files back into FLA format which can easily be edited in native Flash environment. Every group of objects such as morphs, shapes, texts, fonts, motions, sounds, ActionScripts, etc. could be placed in separate FLA library groups, which makes using and working with the resulting FLA file much easier.
Moreover, since Trillix version, in addition to SWF to FLA conversion, Flash Decompiler can extract all objects (images, sounds, video, shapes, text, morphs, ActionScripts, etc) used in SWF files into various file formats just in several clicks.
Additionally, you may customize FLA file workspace by enabling/disabling grids, rulers; specifying grid accuracy and so on. Every morph or shape can be placed on different layers to make sure that masks layers are working properly. Flash Decompiler Trillix is the only Mac OS tool to export the whole SWF movie in FLA format that supports Flash MX and ActionScript 2.0.
This is the description from Eltima´s page. But is it any good?
The software has a very good interface and has some widget-esque look to it.
Its very simple and easy to use. you don´t need a lot of instrucctions to know how to use it, its pretty straightforward for all users, it doesnt matter if you are a newbie or pro on Flash.
This software can encourage learning in a very participative way, because if you like some Flash animation on the net you can see how you can do that exact effect seeing right inside the SWF ActionScript.
Flash Decompiles trillix goes inside the SWF file and converts it to a FLA editable file. Isn´t this amazing?
Even the SWF files that have a pasword protection on them can be modified.
This can come handy for those people that forgot the password of their old animations and want them to revive that old art work. Forget about deleting your old files because of a lost password or a missing FLA file, Flash Decompiler Trillix can acomplish just that and more.
This software can be seen as malicious by some people.
Why malicious? Because you can use the software in dishonest ways, thats why.
The software is a great tool and not malicious in any way. Just dishonest people out there, or lazy people i think
Widget Interface
As i have said the interface is very simple and easy to use. There is the main part of the application were you open the SWF file you want to get into. then you can select the name of the FLA file the software is going to create for you.
This application is a little widget looking app you can see it here.

When you click on the button “Convert to FLA” this options are shown so you can tweak parts of the FLA.

There are other options so you can have more control on the output of the FLA file. You can see them here, when you press the “Extract” button on the right.

Pretty cool right? I like the simplicity of the software, but there are downsides too, but as i hear there are being resolved on the upcoming updates of the software (like everything right?).
This is the only Mac OS tool to export the whole SWF movie in FLA format that supports Flash MX and ActionScript 2.0.
I use Adobe Flash CS3 and some of the ActionScript of some SWF i tested was not decompiled properly, because it only supports ActionScript 2.0 but Eltima is planning to implement full support for Actionscript 3.0. They informed me that they are working hard on this feature right now and the Next Version of FD Trillix 3.1 is due in November.
If you are courious about this software i have great news for You.
I am going to give out 3 Licenses of this great software on the upcoming weeks.
One Licence per Week Starting Thursday 23rd.
Have you used the Flash Decompiler Trillix? I would like to read what are your experience with this software.
