its really all up to u man, u have to decide whether u can justify spending almost 500 dollars more for the same thing with a an updated style. and, i would say that whatever u get, go with 4 gigs of ram, i recently upgraded my friends macbook from 2 to 4 and he said he doesnt notice a difference in browsing or anything like tht, but when working in imovie and stuff like that, it is blazing fast. so i assume it would be a lot faster in whatever programs u would be using.

Hi… if I’m a audio/music engineer, what’s better for me?: An old design MacBook PRO with 2.4Ghz, 2GB Ram, 200GB HDD for 1750 bucks or a NEW design (aluminium) MacBook (not Pro) with 2.4Ghz, 2GB Ram, 250GB HDD for 1790 bucks? Help!

I have MacBook Pro. Lol.

It depends. Macbook is a great product, and with the updated graphics chips, from October, the new ones are very close to the Macbook Pro except for the speakers, Firewire Port, and Screen Size. If you’re planning on playing lots of 3D Games, you may want to consider the Macbook Pro. (I also recommend that you run a Windows operating system on your mac while playing 3D games, it will help a bit.) If you need firewire, or are planning to edit graphics and/or video a lot, Pro is the way to go.

WeekendWarrior1210 January 22, 2009 at 1:44 am

I’ve got the older MacBook Pro, the one right before the new crappy ones came out.

This laptop is just beauty and *** rolled up into one sleek aluminum powerhouse. Love it, thank you college!

twinkltos8 February 4, 2009 at 6:33 am

is the macbook a good notebook to make videos with???

casanovaluver February 5, 2009 at 3:26 am

but is it worth getting a really expensive computer if it’s just ****?

DoodzRann February 8, 2009 at 3:06 pm

Not really since you can upgrade the graphics card, RAM, hard drive space etc. But on a console you have to wait a few years for improvements. Of course additions are a bit expensive so in the end it evens out.

NicScala February 11, 2009 at 8:38 pm

They don’t. Don’t worry all of these people don’t know what they are talking about. They’re just saying that because they think Windows is better. I used to think so too, but I started to play with it and now I’m in love with Apple.

jamal93yall February 13, 2009 at 3:55 pm

WEll i heard that macs freeze up just like ipods. which is why I’m affraid to get one…

lostinozfan36 February 15, 2009 at 3:34 am

Of course u can these people are stupid. There talking about graphic intensive games. WHICH SHOULD ONLY BE PLAYED ON A CONSOLE!

lostinozfan36 February 15, 2009 at 7:09 am

Computers should only be for casual games. Not hardcor games. Personally I think companies like Alienware are retarded that’s why they have game console’s duh!

raphexe February 15, 2009 at 2:32 pm

you can add ram easily on macs as well u know

russiancoconut February 16, 2009 at 6:57 pm

WOW IT’S GOOD TO KNOW THING!

CITGProductions February 19, 2009 at 12:09 am

you can upgrade macs. ;(]

and bootcamp or parallels. Macs are good gaming systems when you use bootcamp or parallels.

geeoffchin February 21, 2009 at 10:23 am

if ur a gamer, buy a PC. Macs only support a limited amount of games. Plus a PC is more upgradeable after a couple years, which is cheaper than buying a whole new computer.
